Descrição
Resumo:The COVID-19 pandemic has brought to light various consequences forpublic health, including cognitive sequelae affecting recovered patients. Among these sequelae, memory loss, difficulties in concentration, and emotional issues such as depression and anxiety stand out. Recent studies indicate that these conditions still lack consensus in the scientific literature. Based on research by Bonfim (2024), Bernardes (2023), and Cruz (2022), this study aims to understand the underlying causes of these sequelae and compile relevant information to enhance healthcare professionals' knowledge, aiming to optimize patient rehabilitation and mitigate the lasting impacts of the pandemic on the mental and cognitive health of the population. The adopted methodology consists of a literature review on the cognitive sequelae of COVID-19, including the definition of inclusion and exclusion criteria for scientific articles, books, and reliable publications. Subsequently, a search was conducted in academic databases such as SciELO and Google Scholar using specific keywords. Relevant sources were analyzed for quality and results, organizing the information to facilitate understanding. Finally, a report was prepared with the analysis and its implications for clinical practice. In conclusion, this research aims to contribute to the understanding of cognitive sequelae of COVID-19 by providing insights that may assist healthcare professionals in identifying and effectively treating these conditions, promoting more appropriate rehabilitation for affected patients.
