Descripción
Sumario:This article aims to present about the musealization of the railway heritage that occurred since the constitution of the Center for the Preservation of Rio Grande do Sul Railway History.  With this purpose in mind, it initially analyzes the influence of heritage policies that permeated the actions of Preserve/fe and, further on, served as a basis for the guidelines and norms implemented in the preservation centers in several Brazilian states. With this scope, the research is theoretically based on cultural history and intends to contribute to the studies on the constitution of the railway heritage in our state and thus reflect on the representations that the federal government’s preservationist program in the eighties wanted to propose in the Center for the Preservation of Rio Grande do Sul Railway History. Finally, based on our research object, the aim is to discuss the relations between political power, cultural heritage and railway museums.
