Descripción
Sumario:We analyze televisualities of caipira women in telenovelas written by Walcyr Carrasco, in order to understand how characters participate in the reconstitution/creation of rural pasts. Our work is based on theoretical and methodological approaches of visual studies, whose investigations take into concern relationships between the imagetext compound interactions and the plot of historical and cultural (in)determinations that gives form to visual experiences. We conclude that different forms of multiestability of self-referring pictures challenge viewers and suggest images of an culturally and visually underrepresented caipira universe as well as expose “invisible” dramas experienced by rural-urban women.
