description The aim of this study was to check the anthropometric characteristics and factors associated with cesarean delivery in women followed-up in the primary care network of São Luís - MA. This is a cohort study, carried out with pregnant women who underwent prenatal care in Primary Health Care Units (PHCUs) in São Luís - MA and were followed-up up to 42 days after delivery. Statistical analysis was performed using Stata®, version 16.0, where Poisson Regression was used. For acceptance of the investigated associations in the final model, a value of p<0.05 was adopted. Of the 80 monitored women, 49.37% had a cesarean delivery, 5.33% started the pregnancy with malnutrition and 41.33% with excess weight at the end of pregnancy, 14.47% were malnourished and 46.5% were overweight. The factors associated with cesarean delivery were: adolescent pregnancy (RRI: 2.26; CI: 1.20-4.25), low level of education, which was classified as illiterate/incomplete elementary school I (RRI: 3.57; CI: 2.61-4.88), having had ≥ 1 pregnancies (RRI: 0.53; CI: 0.16-1.72), having anxiety symptoms (RRI: 2.24; CI: 1.20-4.19) and arterial hypertension during pregnancy (RRI: 5.75; CI: 1.18-2.81), having started the pregnancy with malnutrition (RRI: 6.79; CI: 1.43-3.22) and being obese at the end of pregnancy (RRI: 2.64; CI: 1.11-6.26). It is necessary to improve nutritional assistance during prenatal consultations, with the aim of preventing malnutrition and overweight, thus minimizing complications arising from nutritional status.

It is necessary to improve nutritional assistance during prenatal consultations, with the aim of preventing malnutrition and overweight, thus minimizing complications arising from nutritional status.O objetivo do estudo foi verificar as características antropométricas e os fatores associados ao parto cesáreo em mulheres acompanhadas na atenção primária em São Luís – MA. É necessário o aprimoramento da assistência nutricional durante as consultas do pré-natal, com o objetivo de prevenir a desnutrição e excesso de peso, minimizando assim as complicações oriundas do estado nutricional.EDITORA UNIJUI2024-02-28info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfapplication/pdfhttps://www.revistas.unijui.edu.br/index.php/contextoesaude/article/view/1441010.21527/2176-7114.2024.48.14410Revista Contexto & Saúde; v. 24 n. 48 (2024): 2024; e144102176-7114reponame:Revista Contexto & Saúde (Online)instname:Universidade Regional do Noroeste do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul (UNIJUI)instacron:UNIJUIengporhttps://www.revistas.unijui.edu.br/index.php/contextoesaude/article/view/14410/7943https://www.revistas.unijui.edu.br/index.php/contextoesaude/article/view/14410/7944Copyright (c) 2024 Revista Contexto & Saúdeinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessda Silva, Thayane Leila GonçalvesRêgo, Adriana Sousa Brito, Andressa PestanaAraújo, Allanne Pereirados Santos, Alexsandro Ferreira Costa, Luciana CavalcanteSilva, Flor de Maria Araújo MendonçaBarbosa, Janaina Maiana Abreu2024-09-30T11:28:26Zoai:ojs.revistas.unijui.edu.br:article/14410Revistahttps://www.revistas.unijui.edu.br/index.php/contextoesaude/indexPUBhttps://www.revistas.unijui.edu.br/index.php/contextoesaude/oairevistaseletronicas@unijui.edu.br2176-71141676-188Xopendoar:2024-09-30T11:28:26Revista Contexto & Saúde (Online) - Universidade Regional do Noroeste do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul (UNIJUI)false
