| Sumario: | The airport sector in the city of Montes Claros has become a link in interconnections with other Brazilian airport terminals, seeking to reduce travel time, streamline operations and dynamic air transport services. The objective of this article is to analyze the participation of Montes Claros airport in the spatial interactions of cargo and passenger flows in the context of regional aviation, from 1990 to 2017. The methodological procedures adopted were the literature review, the collection and the analysis of secondary data from the National Civil Aviation Agency – ANAC. World and Brazilian air transport underwent a process of technological modernization that resulted in the expansion of infrastructure and the offer of air services in the commercial aviation segment. In the regional context, air connections from Montes Claros airport concentrated the flow of goods and people more intensely at airports located in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte. |
