Descripción
Sumario:Within the remit of Academic Literacies and higher education internationalization, this paper seeks to analyze the positioning and academic writing strategies of five Brazilian Doctoral students with regard to the publication of scientific articles in English. Data analysis was generated from two research projects carried out in two public universities from the state of São Paulo, with theoretical and methodological anchoring in the ethnography of language. The results reveal tensions between legitimacy and authenticity in the current scenario of strong scientific productivity in English. The final conclusion is that English publishing practices could be aligned with knowledge diplomacy in action.
