Description
Summary:The sun is the main source of energy on our planet and its use contributes to the balance of the energy matrix. Concentrated solar heat energy is an expanding research field, requiring improvements in all systems of thermosolar plants to increase efficiency. This paper presents a brief introduction to the subject and a bibliographic review of works published between 2015 and the first quarter of 2019, showing the main research trends in this theme, classified into feasibility studies and mathematical modeling. failure analysis; thermal energy storage; coatings for solar collectors; environmental risks; and other relevant uses. The development of CSP plants, whether with large installed capacity or for distributed generation, in addition to diversifying energy sources, increasing the reliability of the national generation system, can foster the generation of employment and income in the Brazilian hinterland, an area of great social vulnerability.
