| Sumario: | Sexuality is an inherent dimension to all people and is present throughout the life cycle, permeating care in nursing. The objective of this research was to map the undergraduate nursing courses of Brazilian public universities that present sexuality in their curricula and analyze the offer of subjects on the theme. It is a mixed method of explanatory sequential approach, with analysis of curriculum documents of 110 nursing courses and semi -structured interviews with 12 teachers. Data processing included descriptive approach, content analysis and integration of quantitative and qualitative results. The study revealed inconsistencies in the offer of sexuality in nursing curricula, highlighting the devaluation, lack of systematization, irregularity and absence of the theme. Teachers signaled that sexuality has been approached in a punctual and superficial way, the importance of the obligation of sexuality in the courses and the need for a cross discussion that permeates the entire formative process. This study highlights the need for systematically integrating sexuality in nursing courses to prepare more competent professionals for clinical practice. |
