We write about the relationship between museums and the environment and present some international documents that justify environmental concerns and their sustainability in the context of museology.We will refer to some types of Museums with regard to its architecture and design and show technical solutions available in the market for energy sources that we believe are most appropriate to use in museum buildings.Este trabalho, que se insere nos estudos da Museologia, visa uma chamada de atenção através desta importante área disciplinar, para a preservação do meio ambiente enquanto património.Referimos a relação entre Museus e meio ambiente e alguns documentos internacionais que fundamentam a introdução das preocupações ambientais e a sua sustentabilidade no âmbito da museologia.
