Descripción
Sumario:Case report of envenomation on a minor, has caused by the stinging of a scorpion, Tityus obscurus Gervais, 1843, in the City of Igarapé-Miri, Northeast of Pará State, Brazil, with local sintoms such as pain, erythema and edema, and systemic symptoms such as somnolence, hallucinations, tachypnea, tachycardia, prostration, diaphoresis, intense sialorrhea and frequent and uncontrollable vomiting evincing its severity. The patient was treated with scorpion antivenin and clinical support, having satisfactory clinical evolution. The laboratory tests show changes in skeletal muscle enzymes and rather than myocardium. This is the first case report of a severe accident with this scorpion species in the Amazon Region.
