Descrição
Resumo:The last years in Brazil, there was a meaningful increase of the interest for analysis and design of structures under fire condition. In 1999, the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards published the standard NBR 14323, relative to steel and composite structures. Nowadays, this standard is in review process. The concrete structures are being studied and its expected that soon it will be published the brazilian standard related to concrete structures under fire condition. The standards present procedures that, in several cases, allow a number of simplifications in the determination of temperature distribution in cross section of structural elements under fire condition. In this work, the precision of several these procedures is evaluated. To achieve this objective, a computer algorithm was developed to perform transient and nonlinear thermal analysis of two-dimensional and three-dimensional models based on FiniteElement Method. Several examples of steel, concrete and composite structural elements were processed with and without fire protection. The results obtained were compared and evaluated critically considering results obtained by procedures of standards and values available in technical literature.
