| Sumario: | The indoor soccer has being one of the most practiced sports in the country, it is an activity where the athlete is constantly subject to injuries, mainly for muscle imbalance. The aim of this project was to analyze the isokinetic performance of the extensor and flexor knee muscles in indoor soccer professional athletes at the pre-season. This study is characterized as an observational and transversal one, being developed as part of the university extension program. Nine indoor soccer professional athletes have been evaluated, ages between 18 and 32 years old. The athletes were submitted to an evaluation of the peak torque, deficit of the peak torque, relation hamstrings/quadriceps and total work through the computerized dynamometer, being used the protocol of bilateral concentric/concentric evaluation for the knee flexors and extensors muscles at 60 and 300°/s, five and 10 repetitions each, respectively, with rest interval of 30 seconds and visual and verbal feedback during the evaluation. The data was tabulated in the Windows® Excel, and the analysis of the data occurred through the resources of descriptive statistics. The main results have indicated a bigger peak of torque in the dominant side muscles in low angular speed, an inexpressive torque deficit for the extensors muscles, however important in the flexors muscle and a bilateral muscular imbalance translated by low values in the relation agonist/antagonist. The data gotten from this isokinetic evaluation demonstrate serious muscle imbalance that can leads to musculoskeletal injuries. The results must be used as reference to injuries prevention. |
