| Sumario: | In this paper, I will present some aspects of the debate between the direct realist interpretation and the representationalist interpretation of Thomas Aquinas. As I will argue, I believe that a representationalist interpretation of mental content is more coherent regarding some theses that Aquinas holds and that this interpretation can be supported by good textual evidence. Moreover, a representationalist theory seems to be able to deal better, at least at first sight, with some problems that all direct realist theories of mental content face. |
