Descripción
Sumario:This a article discusses the orthodoxy and heterodoxy of economic policy, both from a theoretical point of view and empirically analyzing Angola´s monetary and fiscal policies in the period 2004 – 2018. In the first sections, the criterion for classifying economic theories as orthodox and heterodox is established, and the main ideas of economic orthodoxy are described, in terms of the role of money and the State. Then the same is done for two heterodoxies, the post-Keynesian and the Marxist. Finally, and based on the previous description, the evolution of Angola´s monetary and fiscal policies is analyzed, in relation to the problems of output growth and reduction of unemployment and inflation, as well as their orthodox or heterodox character.
