| Sumario: | Introduction: information science, being an interdisciplinary area, had as a milestone the technological revolution so that there were changes and advances in its scope. With all this opportunity, also recounting human interactivity, problems began to arise related to the misuse of information, causing the emergence of disinformation. Thus, the article provides a perspective of how the role of the librarian professional can occur in coping with this phenomenon. Methodology: a bibliographic survey was conducted that aimed to search for current works that showed the scenario of the themes mentioned. From this, a narrative review of the literature was made in order to contextualize the concepts from the perspective of different authors. Development: a broad view was obtained about how the technological evolutionary process of Information Science happened, until it reached the point of the existence of the problems that led to the phenomenon of disinformation and, finally, reaching the possibilities of the librarian's action in the face of this. Conclusion: the research concluded that the active participation of the librarian in the fight against disinformation is extremely important, since it has transformative potential through the mediation of information and education of users. |
