Descripción
Sumario:This work aims to contribute to the reconstruction of the history of the semiarid region of northeastern Brazil from the Agua Verde Farm, in municipality of Coronel José Dias - PI. There are strong indications that the seat of this farm is an example of the vernacular architecture of the seventeenth century, when it began to pastures in southeastern Piauí State. She went through alternating cycles ofoccupation and abandonment, under the ownership of several individuals. With a theoretical and methodological framework based on oral and historiographical information we analyzed archaeological data relating them to the landscape. We propose, therefore, still hypothetical level, that the current residential structure of Agua Verde Farm is the same that was built by Portuguese colonists in the seventeenth century.
