| Resumo: | The systematization of nursing assistance has allowed the standardization of nursing language, promoting safe and fast care and attributing to nurses the ability to optimize the nursing process in patient care. Thus, developing a theoretical instrument associated with professional reality is essential to systematize nursing practice. It also helps to continue the care provided and register the actions and routines performed by the nurse and their team. This study consists of an integrative review of quantitative character and exploratory type. Based on the results obtained after the papers’ analysis, a care instrument called “Nursing process for postpartum infirmary” was elaborated to reorganize nursing practices directed to puerperal women. In nursing practice and routine, it results in a precise and consistent document of patient care. It is an implement that promotes consolidation and characterization of the role of nurses in the health care of individuals and boosts the quality of care provided, in addition to providing continuity of care to patients, since it can meet the various demands of maternity care and facilitate the health professionals’ job. |
