| Sumario: | Our work will try to find in the specialized literature an answer to the question: do the lexical items of the linguistic atlas constitute synonyms or parasynonyms ? We will use as the corpus for this analysis the first five published Regional Linguistic Atlas of Brazil: Bahia, Minas Gerais, Paraíba, Sergipe and Paraná. For this analysis we will work with the lexical items of some lexical letters from the semantic field “atmosphere phenomena”, “the human body” and “culture and living” from the five selected Brazilian Atlas. The lexical items analyzed are: rainbow, falling star, scrooge, uterus and kneecap, looking into each one of them the regional variations and at the same time discussing if these variables are synonym or parasynonym. |
