Sumario:Tour guides and visitor conductors play a fundamental role in awakening visitors to geoconservation, influencing the process of understanding the geodiversity of the geotourism destination and helping to mitigate negative impacts on the geological heritage. The aim of this study is to understand whether the training processes for tour guides and visitor guides at the Chapada das Mesas National Park are favoring the popularization of geoscientific knowledge for the practice of geotourism. The research methodology was defined as applied, exploratory, with a qualitative approach and data collection procedures and techniques in documental, bibliographic and field form, based on action research with a lecture, a course and a workshop, with subsequent content analysis. The perception of the lecture participants revealed that 97% understand and see the opportunities of geotourism in the Chapada das Mesas National Park and its immediate surroundings. Based on the results obtained, it was possible to understand that the training processes for tour guides and visitor guides in the aforementioned conservation unit favoured the environment for popularizing geoscientific knowledge and the creation of a content roadmap for the development of geotourism practices.
