Sumario:This text questions how the notions of Latin America and Latin American art have been assimilated, received, diffused and criticized in different geographic, artistic and institutional contexts, focusing on some preciseexamples: a few critical texts, some works of art that created new cartographic representations and major exhibitions held in the 1990s and 2000s. Its main objective is to discuss how the global articulation of theIdea Latin American art took place, especially after the 1970s.
