| Sumario: | This essay presents a discussion about the concept of technology, taking Philosophy as a guide for the argument developed. The aim is to understand how this concept emerged in the western world and was appropriated, with different purposes, admitting different meanings throughout history. We evidenced that the innumerable possibilities of classification, definition and delineation of this concept fomented a multifaceted, plural, complex, and sometimes ambiguous understanding of technology that was consolidating different aspects of life and human experience. |
