Sumario:This study departs from the absence of the monogamy theme as a cause of research in the field of psychoanalysis. We consider the possibility of such failure constitute a defense against anxiety generated by the primary states of passivity which romantic relationships take us. Based on the laplanchean notes about the unconscious, especially with regard to its unique character, individual and conflictive, we question how the issue of monogamy appears in Freud's work, based on the view that the text has contents both manifest and latent, which we tried to explain in his works. We therefore propose a dialectical interpretation of the thought contradictions on monogamy, which is placed in Freud's work as a universal assumption, almost natural, of relationships and at the same time as a particular arrangement of subjects. We think of monogamy as a facilitated way by its relationship with our culture, considering the way babies are cared for. But we must be careful not to commit one sociologizing diversion, bearing in mind that, ultimately, whichever form of chosen relationship is, the conflict will never cease to exist due to the constitutive split of the subject.
