Descripción
Sumario:Irmão do Jorel is an animation that gained relevance winning two international awards and featured in children's programming on open and closed television. This fact inspired this study to understand the use of representations of masculinities in the fictional advertising inserted in the first season of Irmão do Jorel, since the audiovisual media is more than a media production, it is a cultural discourse impacted/impacting by/the sociocultural logics. Through bibliographic research on masculinities (CONNELL and MESSERSCHMIDT, 2013; JANUÁRIO, 2016; NOLASCO, 1993), representation (HALL, 1997, 2003, 2016) and stereotypes (LEITE, 2009; HALL, 2016), and documentary research, representations were identified that reinforce hegemonic masculinity, but also others that subvert, evidencing a criticism allied to a satire of real advertising.
