| Sumario: | The article starts from a distinction between ritual practices and theatrical practices, anchored in anthropological theories, to propose a conceptual approach to ritual theater, specifically to the Ritual Play. The studies by Victor Turner and Martines Segalen on ritualsand by Robson Haderchpek on ritual theater are used as a primary bibliographic reference. From the experience narratives of actors and actresses in the process of formation, members of the Arkhétypos Grupo de Teatro (Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil), the trance statesand the diverse mystical experiences during the creation processes are problematized, making parallels between the mediumistic practice, the states of trance and the art of theactor/actress. The conclusion of this article moves towards highlighting the relationshipbetween metaphysics and poetics, suggesting that experience of the sacred generates amomentary escape from the concept of human forged by modernity. |
