Descripción
Sumario:In this article we analyze the representation of the soldadeiras in the cantigas de escárnio e maldizer found in the corpus of texts of the Galician-Portuguese medieval lyric poetry. These women were active participants in medieval troubadours' performances, dancing and playing instruments while accompanying troubadours and minstrels; and they form one of the most represented social groups in the cantigas de escárnio. Therefore, we will analyze the characteristics, both physical and psychological, that were attributed to this group of women who did not fit into the molds of the sexist and misogynist morality of the time.
