| Sumario: | The Cerrado is one of the most important biomes in the country. The advance of agricultural borders in their areas has caused, in addition to the reduction of native vegetation, soil contamination through the misuse of fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides. The use of plants and their associated microbiota to extract or reduce the toxicity of contaminants in soil or water is called phytoremediation. This technique is considered non-destructive and ecologically correct, and is socially and economically accepted for the remediation of contaminated soils. Thus, the objective of this work, through literature review, report and relate studies using native Cerrado tree species with potential for phytoremediation of polluting metals. It can be seen that the Cerrado offers native plants with this potential, however, the existing studies still address few species, demonstrating the lack of studies on this subject. |
