Sumario:In the process of professional qualification, globalization brings with it many challenges and, faced with some requirements that are designed at all times in this context, the executive secretary has the need to keep up to date and equipped with the skills to earn his place and follow the constant changes. In this way, it is necessary to be attentive to the new skills necessary for the moment of the market. It is also important to emphasize the importance of English as a key factor in this process of global integration, which requires the fluency of languages, and the English language is indispensable for the achievement of space and professional activities. The main objective of this work is to investigate whether the English language is actually used by the executive secretarial professionals who are in the labor market in the city of Mamanguape. And the specific objectives are: to verify the fluency and the use of the English language in the day to day work of the professionals of executive secretariat acting in the city of Mamanguape; identify if there is a charge in the labor market of the region for use of the English language; to verify if it is necessary to use the English language in the universe of the work of the professionals of executive secretariat, acting in the city in question. The public investigated were students graduated from the Executive Secretariat of the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB), with 12 people, and the data collection aims to obtain information about the daily work and the use of foreign languages in the labor market of the students who graduated from the course and who are acting in the profession. For this, we chose a questionnaire with sampling characteristics, that is, a study of a small group of people within a specific type of society. This instrument presents some questions, addressing the foreign languages studied and those of interest, the time of profession and area of action, among others.
