Sumario:The objective of this work was to perform a review on the epidemiological, physiological and treatment aspects of the burned elderly. Predominant sites: residence (42-98%), kitchen (17-65%). Main agents: direct fire or flammable liquid (36 to 74%) and scald (17 to 66%). Inhalation Injury: 12-41% of the elderly. Mortality rate: 6 and 65%. A multidisciplinary team must attend the burned elderly patient.
