| Sumario: | The article discusses the circuit of emotions in the communication of bolsonarists supporters hosted in the Telegram community. After two years of observation we maintain that the affects, intensely explored, produce a polarized and extreme communication anchored in two complementary and concomitant rhetorical blocks of love for the leader and hate for the opponents. In this sense, we propose two typologies of worship of leadership: 1) Bolsonaro as greater than democracy and 2) Bolsonaro as greater than the facts. We also argue that Bolsonarism adopts an extensive and diverse network of enemies, beyond the left. We also suggest that the presence of negative affects by itself is not what makes Bolsonarism potentially undemocratic, but the way in which these feelings build a policy of segregation and destitution of the other promoting democratic restriction not expansion. |
