| Sumario: | In this paper, based on the re-reading of fundamental texts by Benveniste (1956/1966; 1958/1966; 1959/1966; 1965/1974; 1967/1974, 1969), we aim to detect how the author, first a historical linguist, and later an exponent among the structuralists, manages to bring to Linguistics in the mid-twentieth century the need to study a field then new and practically unexplored, in view of Saussure's methodological approach (1916): the enunciation, and its implications. We postulate that Benvenistian thought articulates, reinterprets and sometimes displaces fundamental notions from Breál (1897) and Saussure (1916), in the sense of, with originality, being able to approach the subject in/of language, in the context of a linguistic Semantics. |
