| Sumario: | The study investigated the stage of Library Science research in Brazil. All graduate courses in librarianship as well as those A graduate courses (CAPES standart ) in several areas of knowledge were investigated. Analysis of the data revealed that problems and obstacles faced by library science research do not mainly differ from those in other areas. The major problem is more of an episthemological nature, that is the lack, in library science, of clear definitions of its object of study, i. e., information. |
