| Sumario: | This case study was conducted in a seamless steel tube manufacturing company with the aim of reducing rework rates and packaging costs. The DMAIC methodology, combined with quality management tools, was applied to define, measure, analyze, and address the causes of increased reprocessing in tube packaging. The project, developed by a continuous improvement team, led to the implementation of an action plan that included process adjustments and stronger integration with raw material suppliers. As a result, the company achieved its target of only 1% of packages requiring rework, maintaining this level consistently throughout the analyzed period and generating significant cost savings. The study highlights the effectiveness of structured process analysis and supplier collaboration in achieving quality improvements and enhancing competitiveness. |
