Sumario:The data made available by the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) have been employed to generate Digital Elevation Models (DEM). These, together with such information as sedimentologic and structural survey, are supposed to be useful in studies of geomorphology and drainage systems of a given region. The studies are, where the Lençóis Maranhenses are included, presents at least three relief compartments, each one with is distinct, sedimentologic characteristic, namely the dune-formed bulks (mobile or fixed by vegetation), and the sublittoral and dissected tablelands. The structural elements, like contours, present on those relieves, entail the morphological features which are visible on the surface, in addition to their contributing to a framework of the parallel, rectangular, dendritic and contorted types.
