| Resumo: | The overall mortality rate was 25.0% for44 complicated gastric carcinoma (haemorrhage or perforation). The operative mortality was 27.3% related to haemorrhagic complications and 44.4% to perforations. Total gastrectomies were performed in 7 patients and subtotal resections in another 21 patients. The resectability was 68.3%. These uncommon complications of gastric carcinoma are discussed and the literature data prove the poor surviving prediction even if resections were realized. |
