Summary:In urban areas, the presence of abandoned animals that live without receiving the necessary basic care is evident. This condition directly affects the health and well-being of these animals, while significantly contributing to the spread of zoonotic diseases. Therefore, the objective of this experience report is to present the actions carried out in an extension project that aimed at the elaboration and dissemination of informative material on the responsible custody of domestic animals, seeking to alleviate the problem of abandonment and mistreatment of animals in the city. Ceres and its surroundings in Goiás. For data collection, in addition to bibliographical research, we had the support of NGOs from the local community that works in animals protection. For the elaboration of the guide, Canva, an online tool for creating designs, was used. The material was entitled Responsible Guard of Domestic Animals and published on social networks and sites that promote independent works.
