| Sumario: | Living in a reality where their potential intern rebellion might result on the loss of work relations and their own livelihood, d. Eunice and Mabel, mother and daughter, main characters of the novel intitled Solitary, by Eliana Alves Cruz (2022), develop means of resistance on the diminished spaces assigned to them. Therefore, the following paper aims to analyze the narrative through the path which lead d. Eunice, housemaid in a luxury condominium, to movements of resistance and rupture. Additionally, it is brought to light Mabel’s movements, scrutinizing the female relations on the novel and the way their attitudes converge towards the subversion of these diminished spaces and power relations. To achieve an analysis that invites the reader to a decolonial perspective, we will approach theorical perspectives to a literary critic through the same outlook, female communion and empowerment as a component of resistance (Lugones, 2020; Castro, 2020; Vergès, 2019; Nascimento, 2019; Berth, 2019). |
