Sumario:The representations of pioneering always been present in various discourses elaborated on the process of formation of the city of Londrina - North of Parana state (PR). These representations are therefore quite present in Londrina's collective memory. Thus, assuming that the city is an artifact, that is, a product imagined and built by the action of the human hand, we understand that urban space may be an instrument for consolidation and framing of memories, since the urban spaces are filled with elements that act as supports for the memory(ies). Thus, in this article we will take under consideration the monumental set Memorial do Pioneiro in Londrina, in order to reflect on the representations of gender present in urban space, especially regarding the discourses about pioneering, investigating the extension and transformations of the concept of male pioneer and female pioneer.
