Descripción
Sumario:If the body's aesthetics has a central place in the contemporary world, it is due to the classical roots of the western culture, as well as the not always positive consequences of this influence through the centuries. From a extended approach of the concept of Classical as proposed by Omar Calabrese, we will make a tour through different cultural objects, motivated by the view of Aby Warburg's Mnemosyne Atlas, critically relating images that are separated in time and space without any restriction formal-aesthetic, historical-cronologic or iconographic. From this unfold the analyzes of the classic body, not only in relation to aesthetic standards and its visual reverberations in contemporary art and culture, but also a close look at the ethical and conceptual dimensions of this production.
