Sumario:This article presents a series of problems and questions about the biographical writing, which issued from the desire to write Beatriz Sarlo's biography. The initial section offers a thoughtful account of the motives and circumstances that drove this desire and anticipates some considerations about the way in which the bond between biographer and biographee is conceived and the biographer relationship with the facts. The following section focuses on the analysis of the narration that Sarlo composed of the voice of Rosa del Río, her maternal aunt, in La máquina Cultural, with the purpose of examining the importance that this story reaches in the author's elaboration of childhood memories. The final section specifies the incidence that writing has on the configuration of that which has been experienced that Sarlo proposes and, based on this specification, inquiries into the place that the biographical writing reserves to the self-images of the subject.
