| Sumario: | The objective of this article is to analyze the crisis of the Welfare State in Europe from a comparative analysis between the reflections of Pierre Rosanvallon in the book The Crisis of the Providence State, published in 1981, and those of Anthony Giddens present in the book Beyond Left and Right, published in 1995. The methodology consists of presenting the two authors' basic ideas about the crisis in welfare policies, comparing them and contextualizing them in the political environment in which they emerged. The hypothesis is that both authors have a sociological vision close to Durkheimian conceptions in dealing with State and Society. The current scenario of emergence of a radical right in several countries justifies the current relevance of the topic. |
