Sumario:This paper intends to introduce a critical analysis of the Renata Lucas’ artistic intervention EL VISITANTE (2012), executed at Guernica’s city. This paper’s intention is to discuss how a foreign species realizes the local identity of the Basques. By means of to plant a native Brazilian tree, the artist emerges the issues of cultural identity of the Basques and the nationalist political movement. It is emphasized that the foreign visit’s role can be understood as the starter about a fiction over a charge of the fiction of represented history. By the end, it is emphasized that the intervention leads to frictions with the local context, by creating fictions that raises and sustains dissensus.
