| Sumario: | It’s a qualitative study whose objective was to analyze the understanding of nurses and users of the primary care about the adherence to uterus cancer prevention. The data were collected through a semi-structured interview, in the period of September to November, 2008, with seven nurses and 17 users from Uruburetama, Ceara, Brazil, who were analyzed according to the content analysis method. The findings showed that the adherence of the nurses and the users was due to searching for prevention. The nurses point out some difficulties to supply the raw material for uterus prevention such as deficiency in the organization, limited supplements and materials for maintenance in the primary health care, whereas the users’ barriers were shame, fear and nervousness which made them delay to search for cancer prevention. As a conclusion, this study shows the importance of prevention as main resource for women health, although they face some obstacles to do it. |
