| Resumo: | Our goal is to reflect and to present some teaching possibilities for phraseological units with zoonyms (PUz) considering their lack verified in some textbook for teaching English as a foreign language. This research is justified by the fact that foreign languages learners have understanding difficulties related to the PUz, once their meaning is not taken in isolation, but it results of the fixed combination of words and cultural traits embedded in context that need guided instruction. Within methodological proceedings adopted, it was investigated whether the PUz are present in the collections of textbooks for teaching English, which are included on the National Textbook Program in vocabulary study sessions. We based on assumptions of Phraseology with Corpas Pastor (1996), Navarro (2004) and Leal Riol (2011). As a result, we verified those referred PUz are not contemplated in these materials and their pedagogical practice still requires studies. We present some possibilities of teaching them. |
