Sumario:This article intends to produce some constructive thoughts on the didactic and pedagogical productivity of the historical concepts of visuality and brevity in children and youth literature and its educational importance. In order to do it, we analyze the work of three Portuguese authors from different generations, who marked a significant moment in the history of recent Portuguese literature for childhood and youth in Portugal – Mário Castrim, Teresa Guedes and João Pedro Mésseder.
