Sumario:Introduction: The control of the visceral functions of the human body is the responsibility of the autonomic nervous system (ANS). Thus, theintegration of its sympathetic and parasympathetic branches redeem on the hearte stablishes Cariac Rate Variability (CRV), whichis a tool widely used to evaluate the fluctuations of heart rate (HR) caused by the ANS adaptations to the cardiovascular system. Objective: To analyze the association of cardiac autonomic modulation among physically and irregularly active women. Methods: Cross-sectional analytical research with quantitative approach. The participants were selected for convenience, being 26 women, aged between 18 and 35 years, parcel out into two groups: physically active and irregularly active, following the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) criteria. The HRV indices were analyzed with the Polar RS800CX heart rate receiver. Results: The statistical analysis it turned out that women with irregularly active individuals presented lower median RR, SDNN, RMSSD and TINN, and higher values of LF (nu) and LF / HF (MS²), whilst in the active participants, the elevation of the predictive indexes of the parasympathetic modulation described by the RMSSD (MS) and HF (nu). Conclusion: Althoughthe data obtained were not considered statistically significant, it is suggested from the analysis of the results, evidenced by the maximaze in medians in the group of active women, that physical activity can contribute to a maintenance of the parasympathetic modulation at rest, thus favoring homeostasis.
