| Resumo: | Review of the book Technodiversity (2020), by Yuk Hui. The work presents the concepts of technodiversity and cosmotechnics that forge ways out of the simultaneously ecological, political and social crisis crystallized today. From them, technology as a universal idea is rejected. The aim is to reveal that no technology is neutral, but intrinsically political, since it carries with it epistemological and ontological assumptions that submit its users. Ultimately, the decolonial critique aims to foster locally the investigation of a wide range of technologies that were being withdrawn from circulation by the universalization of technique, unilaterally imposed by the West on a large number of territories with modernity and globalization. Yuk Hui offers modern technologies a new philosophical framework, which sees in diversity a plural, inclusive and diverse future. |
