Description
Summary:The early development of grapevine cultivar Cabernet Sauvignon as to its vigor and nutrient absorption in different rootstocks, in two experiments under field conditions was evaluated in the Núcleo Tecnólogico EPAMIG Uva e Vinho (EPAMIG Technologic Center Grape and Wine) at Caldas, MG. In the first experiment, the rootstock cultivars IAC 313, IAC 572, IAC 766, RR 101-14, SO4, Kober 5BB, 110R, 1103P, 1045 P and Rupestris du Lot were evaluated for the characteristics related to vegetative vigor of cultivar copa Cabernet sauvignon (length of the sarments 1st abd 2nd year, weight of the pruning material and leaf area). It was found, in that way, that rootstock ´Rupestris du Lot´ induced to the highest vigor of the shoot of cultivar Cabernet sauvignon in the early developmental stage of the plants and rootstock 110R, the lowest vigor in the first year with a slight recovery in the 2nd year. In the second experimetn, the rootstock cultivars IAC 313, IAC 572, IAC 766, RR 101-14, SO4, Kober 5BB, 110R, 1103P, 1045 P and Rupestris du Lot were evaluated in response to nutrient absorption. In this case, the concentration of nutrients in the leaves of crown cultivar Cabernet sauvignon was evaluated. It was found that there was a distinction in the efficiency of nutrient absorption among the rootstocks, revealing that ´IAC 313´ as the least efficient for P, Ca, B, Mn, and Zn, and IAC 766 as the most efficient for K, Cu e B.
