Resumo:Our aim is to analyze the contributions of popular education through a university extension experience for a school manager formation from a perspective of democratic management. We turned to a focus group with participants of an extension course for the data collection. The data analysis started from the comprehension of education as a social practice mainly political. We conclude that the university extension develops managers / popular educators who are committed to public education, democratic management, and the formation of a critical discussion about the public school.
