Descripción
Sumario:The publication of the Resolution CNE/CES nº 7/2018, which establishes the Guidelines for Extension in Brazilian Higher Education, provoked an increase in the debate on the role of University Extension in fulfilling the social function of the University, as well as the need to reformulate the curriculum of undergraduate courses. This text intends to report the reflections and procedures adopted by the Physical Education course at State University of Minas Gerais, Ibirité unit, Brazil, to comply with the afore mentioned resolution. We start from the understanding that the claim of a legitimate space for extension activities in the curriculum implies refuting the accessory or welfare character often given to extension and highlighting it’s potential for transforming society and the University itself. At the end, we highlight the perspectives we envision for the course and the challenges that are posed.
