| Sumario: | The purpose of this dissertation is to analyze the liberal democratic peacebuilding model adopted by the United Nations through peacebuilding operations, aiming at holding elections in post-conflict countries. The liberal model that inspired this process has failed to materialize democratization by calling into question its methodological strategies of action. The criticisms revolve around the fact that the process of post-conflict democratization through elections has not led countries to political stability and the realization of democratic peace. Critics point to the need for new implementation strategies, with a focus on the participation of local society as a way to consolidate a lasting and sustainable peace. In the light of this discussion, the main concern of the work is to try to understand what kind of peace is built in the Democratic Republic of Congo and why the elections did not produce political stability and democratic state. Based on theoretical studies and analyzes, the main difficulties of the democratization process of the country headed by the international community are pointed out. |
